Trump is giving us a new way to enhance our ability to come together and fight for our rights and future as a community. Our future is actually becoming better and more defined as it’s becoming something of a national stance on Transgender Rights because they are Human Rights.
Even if the Trump administration finds new ways of trying to destroy our lives, we always find new ways of fighting back. Remember, we are not alone in this fight, there are many more people involved in our legal rights than just Transgender people. We are privileged to have “anyone” standing behind us, and we need to wise up and recognize that. Our beliefs and feelings about who we are and our community matter, but to be a community we must all come together in unity and stop the hate and indifference we have for each other. Respecting each other, being supportive, and acting in a morally responsible way to all human life, will go a long way in our fight for our rights to exist and earn our place in society. Because we fight back in every way possible to ensure our legal rights as not only human beings but as Transgender people.
If we look at our responsibilities as a “Transgender community,” we see it’s a must to come together and fight for what we live for. Never is there been or ever will there be just one advocate, one transgender person, one real influential voice that shaped our community into what it is, (the good things about us and the bad.) It’s taken many to make this community what it is and it will take many more to fight for our rights to exist in this country as a legally recognized community. Simply because we think we deserve the right to be recognized and exist does not get us there, we have to have action and that means get on your feet and fight for it. Those who just want to sit back and let the rest of the community do all the work will always be a freeloader, and will never have what it takes to live an authentic life. That’s just the truth and rightfully so because the people who really want change will get it because those who fight to survive will always exist.
The Trump administration will never get away with discriminating against a certain type of people. Just because he has a real smart administration, who will do anything and everything in their power to destroy the LGBTQ community and do you know why? Because they are scared of us because we have the potential to become a community of people with a powerful voice, and we can change the way the world treats us if we become a legally established community with the same protections as they have for themselves. We can advance our community to a higher level and a more secure future if we are the change and put forth the effort to come together as a community.
I believe those efforts will pay off in the end, because we are real, and we are fully capable of surviving if we fight for it. You don’t see Trump just sitting around complaining folks, he’s fighting us head-on with wrongful discrimination and his beliefs about what he thinks he’s got a legal right to do.
We must fight for our rights and never give up, and never let another discourage you or say we can’t make it as a united community because we can and we are. All we have to do is to keep coming together as we are now to fight these discriminating actions against us and believe in our capabilities.
